Where DeepSwing wins
- Languages. It comes in 18, with the whole website translated. Birdia speaks English, Spanish and German.
- Apple Watch. It has a watch app and widgets. Birdia has no watch app.
- Speed without radar. It estimates clubhead speed and ball speed from the video. Birdia only estimates hand speed.
- Annual price. $59.99 on the US App Store (its blog lists €59.99 as of October 4, 2026) versus Birdia's €99, plus a one-off lifetime option.
- More automatic checks: 20+, with a Swing Score, swing plane and clubhead path.
- Extras: a 3D reference swing to compare against, live voice at the range (Live Coach) and 9- or 18-hole round tracking with every shot tagged to its hole.
- Signs of a living product: it shows its real App Store rating (4.6 from 126 ratings, per its website) and the current app version.
Where Birdia wins
- From ball flight to cause. In "What is your ball doing?" you pick from 12 ball-flight problems and see the likely causes in order, each with its drill. DeepSwing explains on its website why slices and hooks happen and gives you a drill for your biggest fault, but that ball-to-cause chain isn't stated for each swing.
- Cited sources. Every Birdia tip comes from a 47-fault knowledge base with its source (Hogan, Leadbetter, Pelz, TrackMan, TPI, Tour Tempo…). No sources are stated on DeepSwing's website or listing.
- Setup before you hit. Birdia checks knees, posture and stance at address and gives you one spoken correction. DeepSwing's Live Coach talks to you during the session; it isn't stated that it corrects your address before you hit.
- Short game. Chip/pitch, putting and bunker modes, each with its own criteria.
- Measured kept apart from likely. Birdia labels which faults the camera measures and which are likely causes from the doctrine, and if it isn't confident enough, it doesn't give you the fault.
Both measure tempo from video. Birdia's benchmark is John Novosel's (Tour Tempo): roughly three parts backswing to one part downswing.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose DeepSwing if you want the app in your language (one of 18), want to use it with an Apple Watch, want clubhead speed without a launch monitor, or want the cheaper annual plan.
- Choose Birdia if you want to know why your ball flies the way it does, with advice that cites its source, setup corrections out loud before you hit, or work on chipping, putting and bunkers.
- Try them. DeepSwing gives 7 free days with its annual plan and Birdia has a free plan: film the same swing in both and compare what each tells you.
