What an AI measures well and what it doesn't
An AI is excellent at anything objective and repeatable. It can measure your tempo ratio, flag whether your downswing sequence is out of order, or track your swing plane angle frame by frame without getting tired or having an off day. On consistency alone, it beats any human eye.
Where it falls short is interpretation. Ben Hogan in Five Lessons stresses that the fundamentals (grip, stance, plane) form a chain: a fault at impact usually starts three links earlier. An AI tells you what is happening; understanding why and in what order to fix it is root-cause judgment. Harvey Penick in his Little Red Book sums it up well: a good teacher gives one lesson, not ten, because they know which one actually matters for that student today.
Phone camera vs. radar: know the limits of the data
Before you trust a number, ask where it comes from. What a camera estimates is not the same as what a radar measures.
TrackMan measures ball and club parameters directly (ball speed, spin, angle of attack) with radar. A phone camera can't see spin: it infers your body position and motion from the image. These are different and complementary things. An honest video analysis tells you about your body and your tempo; for precise ball data you still need a radar or a launch monitor. The combination that works: the AI gives you objective measurements and constant tracking between lessons; the pro interprets, prioritizes, and tailors it to your body. Neither one replaces the other.

So what's the point of an app if I still need a coach?
For everything that happens between lessons. Nobody has a pro standing beside them for every practice session. Can the AI tell me if I'm getting injured?
No, and it shouldn't try. An AI analyzes movement, not health. It can point out that you have a sway or an odd pivot, but it can't diagnose pain or injury. If you feel discomfort in your back, wrist, knee, or any joint, stop and see a physio or doctor. That's not any app's territory.
